The Banlie voice alarm system adopts a simple method to monitor loudspeakers by measuring impedance. When the cable is long, external factors (such as cable capacitance and speaker impedance) will adversely affect the reliability of measurement. Virtual loads provide filtered loads only at pilot audio rates. This greatly improves the reliability of impedance measurement and provides accurate Open-Circuit or short-circuit detection even when the cable is long.
basic function
In order to improve the performance of impedance measurement, Bosch Security Systems introduced the Splendor Virtual Load Device. It can enhance the loudspeaker load at 20 kHz monitoring frequency, and has a very small load in the normal sound frequency range.
When connected in parallel with the last speaker on a line, it can increase the percentage of impedance at the line terminal, thus increasing the number of speakers that can be connected. At the same time, it can also increase the surplus covered by cable capacitance, thus allowing longer cable connections.
The virtual load device is connected in parallel with the last speaker on the line (which must be a Bosch speaker) using appropriate installation bolts. It is equipped with jumper and can set the load (20 kHz) to 8, 20 and 60 W according to the calculation results of virtual load calculator.
A virtual load calculator is a spreadsheet that can use macros to calculate whether or not virtual loads can be used by related applications and how much the optimal load settings should be. Spreadsheets are available from all Bosch dealers.
