Overview of the Axis T8355 digital microphone

Part of the professional Axis T83 microphone range, this discreet microphone provides high quality audio capture which can be used to complement the video surveillance - ideal for large security systems requiring covert sound detection. It also features an S/PFIF output to carry digital audio signals between the microphone and an Axis network device.
This hemispherical microphone enables capture of sound from every direction - even when the unit is not positioned to directly face the sound source. Compatible with Axis network products that have a digital-in and ring power, the T8355 supports both a 3.5mm jack and audio terminal block input connections. Designed for flexible installation, the microphone's cable allows it to be placed up to 5m away from the connected camera. Alternatively, when paired with the Axis Digital Audio Extension Kit, users are able to transmit the digital audio signal via a network cable at a distance of up to 100m (please select from the dropdown above if required).
The addition of audio provides the ability to hear activity occurring within the scene in live view, and listen to audio recordings in playback - helpful when investigating incidents. This Axis microphone can be used indoors as well as in covered outdoor locations - such as porches. Additionally, the unit's small form factor allows it to be discreetly installed on ceilings or walls and is supplied with a wide range of fitting accessories.
